Join us for a lively discussion, and Pernod Absinthe cocktails (the alleged favorite of Vincent Van Gogh), courtesy of ArtPoint. Please enjoy Pernod responsibly.


Calling all game changers, boundary breakers, iconoclasts and troublemakers.  An evening celebrating ideas and artists who push society forward.  While Impressionist painters now belong indisputably to the artistic pantheon, these absinthe-swilling bad-boys were actually the rebels of Paris. Join us for a discussion on how these imaginatively disruptive artists—pariahs in their day—redefined the art world and a look at parallels with today's internet-based creative networks. Panelists will include:

About ArtPoint 

ArtPoint is the young professionals' organization that supports the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the de Young and Legion of Honor. Through ArtPoint, individuals become active participants in the Museums by attending a year-round program of social and educational events. ArtPoint members enjoy behind-the-scenes tours, museum receptions, the aMuse lecture series and the Engage! gallery series.
ArtPoint is dedicated to promoting awareness of, interest in, and a long-term commitment to the Legion of Honor and the de Young Museums.




INFORUM is a division of The Commonwealth Club by and for people in their 20s and 30s, with a mission to inspire debate around civic issues.

INFORUM has 2,500 members and events are open to all.

The idea of INFORUM began with the basic tenet that young people not only deserve but desire unbiased, trustworthy information from a full range of stances, and that they want their sources qualified. The Commonwealth Club has a 103 year tradition of civic debate, and INFORUM honors and continues this tradition by providing a forum for young people to access the best informed, most involved, and brightest minds – be they politicians, business gurus, policy workers, thought leaders, trendsetters or culture-jammers.



About the Contemporary Jewish Museum

Since its founding in 1984, the Contemporary Jewish Museum has engaged audiences of all ages and backgrounds through dynamic exhibitions and programs that explore contemporary perspectives on Jewish culture, history, art, and ideas. Throughout its history, the Museum has distinguished itself as a welcoming place where visitors can connect with one another through dialogue and shared experiences with the arts
