Foster Care training consists of 7 classes meeting Thursday evenings from 5:30-9:30 PM from Aug 8th - Sept 19th.
From 5:30-6:20 a scripture and prayer-based small group will take place. These devotions are 30 days in length and typically cover the call to foster care/adoption, birth family connections, dealing with difficult behaviors, etc...
The remaining time will be the IMPACT Family Centered Practice Training which is required to become a foster, respite or HOST home.
This training will touch on a variety of important topics which include welcoming a new foster child, managing discipline, partnering with the birth family, and nurturing your own biological family.
