The December Book Review selection is Imagine: How Creativity Works, by Jonah Lehrer. Just in time for Christmas.
This book shatters the myths of muses, higher powers, even creative “types.” Jonah Lehrer demonstrates that creativity is not a single gift possessed by the lucky few. It’s a variety of distinct thought processes that we can all learn to use more effectively.
Here is my summary of the book:
"This is a fun, engaging study of creativity. You won't find exercises to help you think more creatively or ways to avoid creative blocks in this book. Instead, you'll learn how and why creativity is stimulated by certain activities and how these activities stimulate creativity in everyone, not just in 'creative' people."
Doors open at 7:30. Review begins at 8:00. We'll be done by 9:00 AM sharp. Coffee provided.
"The Review and Synk Notes are better than the book!"
