Igniting the Classroom
Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM (MST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
For those of you who attended our Evening of Ignite back in the Fall, we were treated to a wonderful evening of Edmonton area school districts sharing their visions and plans for curriculum re design. This is a follow up event where we'd love to focus the conversation on classroom practice.
Whether or not you were part of that event, the goal here is to share they ways in which your classrooms are incorporating technology in efforts to create innovate classrooms and redesigned learning spaces.
We're asking each district to gather a team of 6-8 participants of which at least 3 should be classroom teachers. The evening will be one of sharing new and emerging practices and informal opportunities to share and have conversations with colleagues. Each district will be asked to share a 10 minutes presentation discussing an emerging practice(s) in your classrooms. Think of it as a show and tell session that focuses not simply on each practice but explores the challenges, success and future of these efforts. This is a chance to get feedback and further expand your networks of support and learning.
Discovery Education is excited about the work happening in Alberta and among your districts. We relish the opportunity to bring together innovative people who have a passion for learning and sharing.
