Ignite DC #5
Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (EDT)
Washington, United States
If you had five minutes on stage, what would you say to Washington, DC? What if you only had 20 slides and they rotated automatically every 15 seconds?
On Thursday, September 30 at 6 pm, 16 artists, technologists, entrepreneurs, and philosophers will answer this challenge at Ignite DC #5 -- with a focus on visions of the future. The event will be held at the techno-modern, funky, plush nightclub Town Danceboutique. It's a block from the 930 club and close to the U St metro.
Tickets are not free as space is limited and we want the maximum number of people to enjoy some of the most passionate and interesting people in DC. But your money is not going to the organizers--it's just covering a drink and a snack for you. Last time we sold out the 345 spots, so again we want to make sure we can fill the venue with confirmed spots (and cover our costs, yikes!). So, get in now while there's room.
And some more on this special Ignite:
Ignite DC 5 - The Future will focus on your 5-minute visions of the future.
No single person is likely to have an accurate, comprehensive vision of the future, but we think Ignite is the perfect format for sharing bite-sized predictions. It is our hope that those predictions, good and bad, will seed their own unique permutations in our minds, inspiring us to envision the future, and maybe even play a bigger role in creating it.
At the end of this event, we'll be asking you for input on how these atomic visions of the future might be combined, and we'll share them as a map after the event.
There will also be plenty of time to get to know other professionals, enjoy some fine libations or a bite, and really just enjoy the creative, world-changing ideas that are percolating in the nation's capital.
