Ignite Adaptive Sports (formerly the Eldora Special Recreation Program) will host the first annual Spring Thaw on April 16, 2011. The evening fundraiser will feature music by The Samples and a silent auction. The event will raise funds to support Ignite with operating costs, new equipment and most importantly, scholarships for participants of the program.
The music has been described as "reggae influenced rock/pop" and a cross between The Police and the Grateful Dead. With their relaxed, slightly jazzy pop, the Samples were one of the most popular touring bands of the early '90s.
