Consumer interest in information about the foods they consume is increasing. With that, a push to include marketing information related to ingredients, production methods and processing is growing. The verifiable and relevant safety and nutritional content model adopted in the US no longer serves the role to provide the information that consumers desire. The complexities and issues associated with this change in consumer demand and its impact on the food system and regulatory policy will be discussed.
Dr. Collins will also present an update on a number of IFT initiatives. From Unified Membership to the new Global Food Traceability Center to celebrations around IFT’s 75th Anniversary, our volunteer leaders are working hard to offer the best membership experience and return on investment for your membership dollars.
