iFashion Panel NY Press Day Presentation
@MADEBYSOKA:
"Experimentation, reinvention, versatility, colour, texture, shape, contrast, and composition are some of the words I would use to describe my relationship with fashion. The body is a vehicle for design, best described as a human canvas on which any mood, idea, belief could be interpreted. Each one of us, has a role to play in life, and mine is that of a designer. I plan to make an impact on our perception of ourselves and that of others through the media of clothing."

@GOLDENLADY25:
"While an inspiration and muse to many, Essie cites her inspiration as the late Mia Amber. “I wanted to be just like [Mia],” she states. “I’d never seen someone my size look so beautiful. She truly made me feel okay to be me. [Mia Amber] was full of confidence and grace.” It is Essie’s mission to envoke that same spirit in the hearts of others."

About The iFashion Panel

Becoming a global brand is something that every independent fashion professional aspires to achieve. Social Media is making over the fashion industry; however the key to global runs deeper that the level of interactivity, it involves representing a global base. Upon becoming involved in the fashion industry and administering research, Phoenix noticed a number of unsettling facts... The fact that disabled models, or models of other shapes and sizes other than the industry standard are seldom represented in editorials and fashion shows. The fact that models of color continue to account for an average of 6-8.1% of the looks shown at Fashion Week New York and Fashion Week London... The fact that designers of color represent less than 1% of designers available in major department stores. The iFashion Panel is an international panel series for the indie fashion community of diversity where independent brands become interactive opportunities. Our goal is to be one of the greater whole who help make disparity in the industry a thing of the past.

The Panel is designed for independent fashion professionals of diversity who are seeking more practical ways to make their brand more interactive and market to multicultural audiences around the world. Coordinated by Phoenix Aficionado Inc, the panel consists of a variety of speakers from across the industry who discuss best practices for developing a global brand! In addition to the discussion, there is also a comprehensive networking mixer with music and a series of signature beverages.
