IEEE Smart Tech Metro Area Workshops provide participants with a unique learning experience with topics on the cutting-edge of technical innovation today.
Each workshop is a springboard to a deeper understanding of technology and its myriad applications and potential for innovation.

On Friday the workshop begins at 7 a.m. with a continental breakfast and registration, moves through an opening session on Friday morning and course instruction, to lunch at noon. Two more course sessions, separated by a break, culminate at 5:00 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m.on Friday, join us for a reception with a light dinner and a cash bar after a dynamic keynote address by Sir Robin Saxby, former CEO and Chairman of ARM Holdings, PLC.
On Saturday morning, breakfast begins at 7 a.m. Track sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. The workshop officially ends at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Dress code for the workshop series is business casual.
The registration fee includes two days of instruction, breakfast and lunch, and the Friday evening reception with a light dinner (cash bar will be available). Single day registration grants access to all events for that day.

The Hilton Birmingham Metropole is offering a special rate of £166 per night to conference attendees. Rooms at this rate are limited, so be sure to book early.

If you require an invitation letter in order to apply for a visa to attend Smart Tech, please complete your registration and payment first. After you've registered, send an e-mail to email@example.com stating your request for an invitation letter.
IEEE Visa Policy: Visa letters will only be issued to speakers/presenters, committee members, attendees who have paid their registration fee in full and are not from one of the countries embargoed by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, exhibitors who have paid their exhibitor/patron package fee in full.
Refund Policy: No refunds for registration fees will be given after Friday, 14 October, or once a visa invitation letter is issued. Substitutions are permitted in the event you cannot attend.
