Ann Winblad( Founder and Managing Director, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners)

 

Ann Winblad is the co-founder and a Managing Director of Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. She is a well-known and respected software industry entrepreneur and technology leader. Her background and over 30 years of experience in the software industry have been chronicled in many national business and trade publications.

 

Ann began her career as a systems programmer at the Federal Reserve Bank. In 1976 Ann co-founded Open Systems, Inc., a top selling accounting software company, with a $500 investment. She operated Open Systems profitably for six years and then sold it for over $15 million. Prior to co-founding Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Ann served as a strategy consultant for prestigious clients such as IBM, Microsoft, Price Waterhouse, and numerous start-ups. In addition, Ann has co-authored the book Object-Oriented Software and has written articles for numerous publications. Ann has served as a Director of numerous start-up and public companies and currently serves as a director of Ace Metrix, Karmasphere, MuleSoft, Sonatype, Star Analytics and Voltage Security. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of St. Thomas. Ann is an advisor to numerous entrepreneur groups, as well as Director and former Chairperson of SV Forum.

Brian Cho (Partner, Andreessen Horowitz)

Brian Cho is a partner at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, where he focuses on venture stage deals and research in the consumer sector. Previously, Brian was a senior director and part of the management staff at Booyah, a geo-location mobile gaming start-up. He touched multiple areas during his tenure at Booyah, including product management, business development, marketing and operations. Prior to Booyah, Brian handled online specific business development and corporate strategy for Ubisoft Entertainment. Brian began his career at Deloitte Consulting as an enterprise tech consultant.

Garth Timoll (Principal, Top Tier)

Garth is a Principal of Top Tier, focused on investment due diligence, monitoring, and reporting. Before joining Paul Capital in 2009, he was Vice President at Portfolio Advisors, where he focused on primary investments in venture capital, leveraged buyout, and special situation funds and served as a supporting member of the firm’s investment committee. Before that, Garth spent four years at Fairview Capital Partners, a Connecticut-based fund of funds. Before attending business school, he was an Associate Director in the U.S. Equity Research Department at Rogerscasey. He received his M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University as a Robert A. Toigo Fellow and a Christopher T. Emmet Scholar.

 

Jay Jameson (Partner, Blue Run Ventures)

Jay Jamison joined BlueRun Ventures in November 2010 and is based in Menlo Park. He focuses on early stage mobile, consumer and enterprise opportunities.  Jay has 12 years of product management and marketing experience in the software and internet industry. Jay also successfully founded and led Moonshoot, a venture backed online English education service for children.  

Marlon Nichols (Associate Director, Intel Capital)

Marlon Nichols started his career in the software industry where he successfully led the deployment of many global enterprise software and business process improvement initiatives for Fortune 100 enterprises. During his time as a technologist, Marlon played a key role in the European expansion of a Cambridge based software company.  After completing his MBA degree at Cornell Marlon joined Intel Capital as an Associate Director. Marlon actively works to identify, invest in, partner with, and advise early stage high growth companies that operate in the digital media and consumer internet sectors.

 

 

Startup Clinic Mentor Sessions

The Startup Clinic will allow entrepreneurs to meet one on one with investors and prominent entrepreneurs to receive feedback on their startup and pitch. Signups for Startup Clinic will be on the day on the event at registration.

Anyone working in technology, from early-stage startup to corporate to investments. Anyone who is thinking about starting a startup, or has a general interest in technology and innovation. This includes but is not limited to: engineers, entrepreneurs, designers, product managers, marketers, business development, and investors.

We're a diverse group on entrepreneurs and our conference is open to everyone.
