IDA-GA Outreach Meeting - "Experience Dyslexia"
Sage School, Suwanee, GA
7:00 p.m. (Check-in begins at 6:45 p.m.)
The Experience Dyslexia® simulation is a hands-on experience that lets participants experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by people with this language-based learning disability. It provides a lively, thought-provoking activity for teachers, parents, or anyone interested in better understanding the lives of individuals with dyslexia. This event is free and open to the public.
The International Dyslexia Association - Georgia Branch (IDA-GA) is a non-profit, scientific and educational organization which was formed to increase public awareness of dyslexia. Our members are educators, psychologists, physicians, individuals with dyslexia, and parents who have dealt with learning disability issues within local public and private schools. With its approximate 300 members, the Georgia Branch provides an information and referral hotline, community outreach activities, the Dyslexia Dash 5K Run/Walk, yearly conferences, teacher training workshops, and e-newsletters. IDA encourages teachers to train in multisensory structured language instruction. Visit www.idaga.org for more information and to sign up for the IDA-GA mailing list.
