Personalizing Student Growth with Blended Learning -- How to do it right!
HOW TO APPROACH A SCHOOLWIDE BLENDED LEARNING TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVE:
ThinkCERCA is excited to announce a leadership training for principals who are at any stage of taking their school blended. Whether you only have a computer lab, or are full-scale 1:1 program, we will address concerns, strategies, and best practices for making sure you, your students, and staff can make the most of 21st Century learning models.
We've gathered a group of nationally-recognized experts in technology and blended learning to work with principals, assistant principals and instructional leaders. We will provide a full day of professional development on integrating technology into schools to personalize learning. Technology is no longer a "nice-to-have" but a must-have, given the demands of the CCSS and increasingly sophisticated world of everyday life. Supporting teachers in integrating technology is essential to student growth and success. Learn to how to plan appropriately for a transformative technology adoption and/or re-align your use of technology to maximize student growth.

Eileen Murphy is the author of “360 Degrees of Text” (NCTE, 2011), a book on close reading and powerful writing, the skills featured in the Common Core State Standards. She was the founding English Department Chair at Walter Payton College Prep, one of the country’s highest performing high schools, and a district leader in Chicago Public Schools. As the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for over 100 of Chicago’s highest performing schools, she became passionate about the role technology could play in education in the 21st century. She is the Founder & CEO of ThinkCERCA.com.
Chris Liang-Vergara joins FirstLine from the Noble Network of Charter Schools in Chicago, which also brought us the leaders of Clark Prep High School. As the Technology Integration Specialist for Noble, Liang-Vergara helped the highest performing network of open enrollment charter schools in Chicago develop systems that both improved teacher efficiencies and student performance. Before that position, Liang-Vergara was the 9th grade Physics teacher, who set the network record for most student growth on the ACT Explore science test. Liang-Vergara has also taught in Puerto Rico, Chile and Beijing. This former college DJ and new dad is passionate about the design of public education to help stuents with social mobility and equality, and hopes to help FirstLine leverage technology purposefully to improve each student's educational experience.
Jason Holmes is the Principal at Dunlap Valley Middle School in Peoria, IL, where he has led the school through growth and a blended learning initatives. Jason will address the challenges in bringing a 1:1 initative in a middle school setting.
Christine Munns is the Principal at Sauganash Elementary where she has led a team of teachers through the process of selecting technology-based education products.
