IT-oLogy is partnering with BirdBrain Technologies to bring you the Hummingbird Robotics Workshop!

Hosted by Discovery Place

The Birdbrain Hummingbird Robotics Kit is a spin-off product of Carnegie Mellon's CREATE lab. Hummingbird is designed to enable engineering, robotics, and programming activities for ages 13 and up that involve the making of robots, kinetic sculptures, and animatronics built out of a combination of kit parts and crafting materials. 

Bring your own laptop with these programs downloaded:  

  • CREATE Lab Visual Programmer = Beginners 
  • SCRATCH = intermediate 
  • SNAP! = Upper intermediate

 ******If you are interested in purchasing your own kit for the workshop******

 1)   Go to www.HummingbirdKit.com and place order.   This way you will receive $10 off per unit and  save on shipping, a $20 - $25 savings.   Note:  The retail price is the educators price. 

2)   Write special instructions:   DO NOT SHIP.  Will pick up at IT-oLogy workshop at Discovery Place. Charlotte NC. 

Parking:    Park in the Discovery Place parking garage, behind Discovery Place.  You enter the garage off of 6th street.   Continue to the top floor of the garage.   You will enter the building via the crosswalk.  Nicholson Room is on the 3rd Floor.  There will be signs to greet you.
