[Hub Lab] EARTHaction
Friday, June 1, 2012 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM (CEST)
Let's bring the talks to action... Following the EARTHtalks on 31st of May 2012 in Hofburg, Neongreen Network together with The Hub Vienna invites you for a one day workshop dedicated to bring about and work on new ideas particularly focusing on the intersections of creativity and design with social and environmental challenges. In a creative and collaborative environment you will be able to
- Crystallize your intention and ideas to make a difference for the earth
- Design and plan the next steps and start the 1st year prototype of your solution
- Connect and collaborate with people that share the same intention
- Learn and be inspired by an in-depth work with Mike Edwards as a pioneer in this field
- Experience a new surrounding and have fun working on your idea...
„I was invited to EARTHtalks because the organisers saw me smashing a white porcelain cat with a hammer in front of some of the world’s leading environmental scientists. Now that’s weird! „
The environmental educator and musician wrote his PhD on the security implications of climate change for small island states in the Pacific. Mike left the academic world many years ago and works on raising awareness of environmental problems and playing his Yidaki (Didgeridoo) in his band „Didjitalis“. In his talks he speaks about the need for art and culture to help us communicate environmental problems and about the necessity of re-connecting with nature in order to solve them.
Together with Kyle Maplesden he founded the consulting firm „IndigeNouse“, which uses an understanding of indigenous worldviews and Earth systems and applies this to business practice helping clients see things in new ways.
