How to Market Your Book for Free Workshop
Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Authors spend hundreds of hours writing, editing, and publishing their books only to realize their work is not done. Marketing is one of the most neglected aspects of publishing. Many authors believe that if they write it, readers will come...or in this case, buy.
The How to Market Your Book For Free Workshop is an essential opportunity for authors, publishers, and publicists to learn how to market for high returns with no to low cost. The vital information in the workshop is organized into three sections: The Plan (important aspects of creating an effective book plan), The Point (developing the theme and turning it into a message to encourage people to immediately buy the book), and The Process (101 free-to-low-cost ways to market the book). By using resources discussed in the workshop, attendees can gain the visibility, exposure, outreach, and impact that lead to skyrocketing sales and success.
The question most often asked by newly published authors is, “My book is published: Now what?” The answer: market, market, market to sell, sell, sell. Marketing is the means, not the goal; selling is the goal.
The workshop outlines the following:
- Writing Basics
- The Plan: Developing Your Book Plan
- The Author View
- The Book View
- The Audience View
- Competitive Analysis
- Market Research
- Budget and Revenue Generation
- One Page Marketing Plan
- The Point: Defining Your Message
- The Process: Identifying Your Medium
- Leverage: How to Tie Your Book to Your Success
- Publishing Basics
Attendees of the workshop will leave feeling inspired, challenged, and empowered. They will learn the importance of writing; better understand why they wrote their book, the opportunities that awaits them as an author, different marketing techniques, and how to turn one book idea into others.
