Ray Rickman, President of the Rickman Group, has served as a Rhode Island elected and appointed public official for the past thirty years. He has brought his powerful voice and convictions to the RI State House, public television, radio, public schools and universities throughout New England. A public scholar, Rickman lectures on governmental, business and cultural matters as often as eight times a month. Using innovative and exciting storytelling, language, imagery and personal experience, Rickman compels others to stand up and take action on important issues.

The Rhode Island Black Heritage Society
The Rhode Island Black Heritage Society was founded in 1975 with a mission to preserve three centuries of African American history in the state. The Society has amassed an invaluable collection of artifacts that documents African Americans' achievements in military service, business, politics, the arts and education. The Rhode Island Black Heritage Society encourages and promotes the study of African American history by hosting tours, lectures, and exhibits for the general public.
