Brief Bios of our Panelists and Moderator:

Griffin Caprio is a consulting CTO in Chicago & founder of the Chicago CTO Forum, Chicago Lean Startup Circle & Chicago Bootstrappers Breakfast.  His expertise is in working with companies to grow & scale their business with a focus on their technology capabilities. From two entrepreneurs in a garage to Fortune 500 clients, he's worked with entrepreneurs & intrapreneurs of all sizes.  Most recently, Griffin was the CTO at Spartz Inc., overseeing the entire technology team, including development, data & analysis and project management and growing from 4 developers to a team of over 20.

Ben Blair has been leading engineering teams for the past 15 years. He was developer #1 at PEAK6, where he helped them become one of the top trading firms in the country. Ben then co-founded BBR Trading as partner and CTO, where he led the development of a groundbreaking stream computation platform. In 2012, Ben finally escaped the trading industry when he co-founded MarkITx, a B2B startup launched out of 1871. There he serves as CTO for one of the best technology teams in the city.

Brandon Passley is the Founder and CEO of the Mobile Makers Academy. He is also CTO of Vokal Interactive, where he builds and manages the teams and technologies that help clients small and large make awesome mobile experiences. Brandon believes in using education as a foundation for building great development teams. This belief, and the successes he saw from growing a team from 2 people to more than 40, was the inspiration for starting the Mobile Makers Academy: Seeing a lack of qualified iOS talent in the marketplace, Brandon recognized that he could address that issue and, at the same time, help numerous people get started in a new career.

Aaron Rankin is CTO and co-founder of Sprout Social, a leading social media management and engagement platform. He leads the company's technology strategy as well as the growing team of developers and engineers. There he has built the tech culture around simplicity, scrappiness and commonsense. Prior to co-founding Sprout, Aaron held various leadership and solution development positions at Endeca Technologies.

Mark Ferry has around 17 years in the software industry working for startups and contracting w/large companies - currently the Director of Technology at Isobar a digital agency working with Motorola, the AirForce and HBO solving problems ranging from Big Data processing in AWS to mobile second screen apps.  Background in physics and always happy to discuss better ways to apply technology to business.
