"How Public Art Enhances a City"
Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (EST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Join IF University and the Speed Art Museum for a conversation with international curator and art adviser Marc Pottier. Public art is not owned by an individual collector or group of art lovers, it opens a dialogue with all the people in a city for whom these works are designed and created. Using images from his collection, Pottier will showcase how art enhances a city and why public art is essential to most public spaces. This is a chance to learn more about public art in an informal setting from one of the world's leading experts on the topic.
Pottier will also speak at the Kentucky Center for the Arts on Wednesday evening, February 12, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Speed's lecture series in honor of the future Elizabeth P. and Frederick K. Cressman Art Park and Piazza at the New Speed. For tickets and information about the Speed lecture, please click here.
