Event Details

Join IF University and the Speed Art Museum for a conversation with international curator and art adviser Marc Pottier. Public art is not owned by an individual collector or group of art lovers, it opens a dialogue with all the people in a city for whom these works are designed and created. Using images from his collection, Pottier will showcase how art enhances a city and why public art is essential to most public spaces. This is a chance to learn more about public art in an informal setting from one of the world's leading experts on the topic.

Pottier will also speak at the Kentucky Center for the Arts on Wednesday evening, February 12, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Speed's lecture series in honor of the future Elizabeth P. and Frederick K. Cressman Art Park and Piazza at the New Speed. For tickets and information about the Speed lecture, please click here

He was a cultural attache in Rio de Janero and Lisbon for the French Foreign Ministry of Culture from 1998-2006. He started his own company, C-Art France, in 2008 and expanded to Rio de Janeiro in 2012 with C-Art Brazil. His projects are dedicated to community culture and gardens.
