Course Description - Strategies for Success 2014

Texas Registry Approved Trainers!!

Strategy :  A plan, a series of calculated moves, a set of  maneuvers. . . in today’s competitive child care environment,  thriving  teachers and administrators have a strategy to keep their centers cutting edge.  From basic training to keeping fresh energy in programming, it takes a set of well thought out plans to have a high quality program that survives today’s tough economy, competitive climate and discerning customers! Choose a tract, and choose an afternoon feature, for a full six hours of professional development.

Tract One:

Strategies for Success in the Classroom:  Are you spending more time intervening in misbehaviors than interacting positively with children? Do you have a few out of control children spoil the fun of an activity for everyone? Learn the five requirements for running a successful classroom, and come away with power-packed techniques for addressing unruly behavior by tackling it’s root cause

Hands-on Conflict Resolution: From the sensory table, to the art easel, your classroom is filled with opportunities to help unruly children self-regulate and engage in conflict resolution.  Learn to incorporate “soothing centers” throughout your classroom to help your little ones learn to manage their emotions and resolve conflicts peacefully.

Afternoon Feature:  Supporting Children With Special Needs: Sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders, oppositional defiance disorder. . .today’s inclusional preschool teacher is confronted with needs outside the norm that sometimes challenge traditional classroom management techniques.  Learn strategies  and engage non-typically developing children as you work with them.

Tract Two:  Strategies for New Teachers, Refreshers for Experienced Oned!

Safety & Injury Prevention, Transportation Safety - Keep the little ones in your care save and reduce liabilities by discovering these “safety musts” for the classroom, the playground, and field trips.  Participants in this class will also leave with a better understanding of the Department of Human Resources’ reporting requirements for accidents and injuries.

Infectious Diseases:  Recognition & Prevention - Proper hand washing and diapering procedure are just a few of the sanitary practices addressed in this course to help early childhood professionals learn how to reduce the risk of spreading illnesses in child care settings.

Afternoon Feature:  Professionalism for Teachers, Cooks and Floaters:  From time management to communication, the choices we make as we interact with others create ripples that impact teachers and students center- wide.  Learn how to put your best foot forward, bring out the best in others with your words, and make the most of the minutes you spend on the job. Learn the three biggest time stealers in the workplace, and how to avoid them to make the MOST of each day.

Tract Three: (For administrators, directors, and owners!)

Leadership starts at the Top! – Does your center have a strategy for success in 2014? A plan? A series of calculated moves??  A set of maneuvers to repeat?  Assess and expand your vision in light of the trends in our industry, and go away with a clear plan for making 2014 the best ever!

Tried and True Strategies for Success – “Full with a waiting list”, “been in business 25+ years”, “accredited, award winning center”. . .Learn from the successes of others in the industry as you identify the traits that top centers have in common, and hear tips from owners and directors that stand out in today’s world of childcare. How do they attract and retain great staff? How do they control expenses? How do they maximize profits? You’ll come away with a plan for keeping your center moving forward in 2014.

Customer Service that Sells! Take a look at your plan for amazing your current and potential clients in 2011. You’ll ask questions and brainstorm answers to help dazzle your customers:  Who are they? What do they want?  What do they need? How do you give it to them better than your competition??   This interactive workshop will give you a definite set of marketing maneuvers  to add to your 2014 strategies!
