Housing for New Hope's Rent Party
Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM (EST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Originating in Harlem during the 1920s, a rent party is a social occasion where tenants gather friends, share food, and hire a musician or band to play and pass the hat to raise money to pay their rent. During the Harlem Renaissance, rent parties were a means of survival, and also elevated the development of jazz and blues music and culture.
Today, Housing for New Hope’s Inaugural Rent Party will gather our community together for a night of live jazz, dancing, delicious Hors D'Oeuvers and open bar to raise funds to help families and individuals move from homelessness to home.
$50 Donation to Housing for New Hope. Donation is tax deductible. All funds raised will help pay rent and utilities for homeless families and individuals moving from homelessness to home.
Feel free to call Housing for New Hope to donate over the phone 919-489-6282 to avoid a processing fee.
