Show Hours: Friday July 27th, 5:00PM to 9:00PM (Artist Preview); Saturday July 28th, 10:00AM to 9:00PM and Sunday July 29th, 10:00AM to 5:00PM
Award Winning Event: The Orchard Lake Fine Art Show event has been voted in the top 100 shows in the country by Sunshine Artist Magazine for four consecutive years. The show also received eight Fun Awards from Michigan Festivals and Events. This is the original show that has, with the help of the Charter Township of West Bloomfield, solidified itself in the heart of West Bloomfield. Also the Institute for the Arts & Education (non-profit) helping the show develop it's focus on community involvement and enrichment.
Juried Fine Event: The Orchard Lake Fine Art Show is made up of hand selected artists from around the globe. The reason behind this is to allow only the highest quality of art and crafts into our shows. There are $2,500 in artist awards including a $1,000 Best of Show, two $500 Purchase Awards and five $100 Awards of Excellence. The judges include Anne Kuffler (director/owner of Arianna Gallery in Royal Oak) and Joseph T. Marks (curator of The Alfred Berkowitz Gallery at U of M Dearborn).
Event Location: At the intersection of Powers Rd. and Daly Rd., South of Maple Rd. (West of Orchard Lake Rd.) at the West Bloomfield Plaza. There is plenty of free parking available to the public behind Beaumont Medical Center, Barnes & Noble as well at West Bloomfield and Corporate Plazas.
Live Entertainment: Live art demonstrations including glass blowing, wood working and painting. Patrons can learn and understand the techniques that artists use to create their pieces of art. There will also be live music from Michelet Innocent, Charlene Berry, Zebula Avenue, Jeffrey Michael and The Carrington Duet.
Youth Art Competition: The 6th annual competition will be sponsored by The Chadwick Accounting Group and is open to children from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. The entries must have been created during the school year by the artist themselves. The entries will then be judged by participating artists in the show. There will be $250 cash awards with four total prizes for the winners of the competition. Applications are available at www.Hotworks.org, the deadline for this event is July 1st, 2011.

The Institute for the Arts and Education, Inc. is the 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable arm of Hot Works and is dedicated to educate and promote fine arts and crafts among all artists and students, of all age groups and diversities, and the general public. Our mission is to enhance artistry and community enrichment. IA&E enriches lives and strengthen communities through the power of arts. We help teach communities how art is made, and further the involvement of the community with our events. This association encourages creative expression, artistic excellence, and expands public awareness, appreciation and acquisition of fine arts and crafts.
