Hot Metal Hullabaloo!
Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM (EDT)
The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is a church that was planted in the South Side neighborhood in 2002 with a mission to serve those who are sometimes pushed to the margins of society— including those who are hungry, homeless, addicted, working poor, young — and inviting them into community.
This mission has taken many shapes, including:
- The Table: each year dozens of organizations and churches partner with us to serve over 10,000 meals at this free community kitchen held every Tuesday and Thursday night
- Homeless Ministry: each year volunteers pack over 1,500 lunches and deliver them to homeless camps around the city every Saturday afternoon
- American Sign Language: a professional interpreter makes our religious gatherings more accessible to members of the Deaf community
- Community Partnerships: we partner with many neighborhood organizations on projects and make our building available for meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous, the Veterans Leadership Program, the Brashear Association, Habitat for Humanity and other groups
On the evening of Saturday, April 20 we are hosting a party at Clear Story Studio in the South Side to celebrate 10 years of community and to fund these efforts.
Joy Ike will cap off the evening with a live performance at 9:30pm.
The $75 admission includes two drink tickets, tapas, live music, and all the dart-throwing, pool-shooting, and Space Invaders button-mashing you can handle. Plus a live performance by Joy Ike and her band beginning at 9:30pm!
Fund the future of Hot Metal and take home great prizes by participating in the raffle or bidding in the silent auction on quality goods, services, and artwork donated by local businesses, organizations, and artists.
More friends means more fun so invite a friend or three! Help spread the word: 'like' us on Facebook or Tweet the event using the buttons above!
