Dog Dayz of Summer Returns for Round 2 this June!

Weekend Tribute to the Almighty Sausage Presented by

Hot Doug’s & Goose Island Brewery

CHICAGO (May 2, 2016) – The Sausage King of Chicago, Doug Sohn, returns with his signature sausages to the Goose Island Barrel Warehouse (605 N Sacramento, Chicago), Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th. Hot Doug’s and Goose Island Beer Company proudly present the 2nd annual Dog Dayz of Summer, a one-of-a-kind encased meat fest that pays homage to the rich sausage history of Chicago.

The event gives ticketed attendees the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive tasting of the “best hits from Hot Doug’s” in a festival-like setting – paired with ice cold beer and live music. Sohn will be curating a selection of his famous sausage sandwiches and the iconic duck fat fries – and introducing a brand new sausage made especially for Dog Dayz (menu to be announced in subsequent release). Meanwhile, Goose Island will pour their latest summer and specialty beers and a mix of bands will set the tone on the stage.

Produced by Criterion Productions, the company behind signature Chicago festivals like Do Division, Battle of the Burger and Wicker Park Fest, Dog Dayz of Summer is a family friendly event taking place on Friday, June 24th, 6PM – 9PM and Saturday, June 25th, 12PM – 3PM and 5PM – 8PM (three separate ticketed sessions). There will be no VIP section, everyone gets the same ticket, same access, same Hot Doug’s sausages.

10% of ticket proceeds benefit the Intonation Music Workshop. The organization provides music education as well as access to instruments, music lessons and performance opportunities for children who otherwise might not have the opportunity to experience expressing their creativity through music, working together with their peers or playing in a band. These experiences and new skills build children’s confidence and they can be applied to all aspects of their lives.

FAQs

Where is this place?

The Goose Island Barrel Warehouse is at 605 N Sacramento. It's a little bit South of the intersection of Chicago Ave. and Sacramento, on the East side of Sacramento.

How many sausages do I get?

No set limit. All dogs come in tasting sizes and there are 10 total. Eat freely.

How many beers do I get?

If you are over 21, you will get 3 regular beer tickets plus a special token for a specialty tapping of a rare Goose Island beer (while supplies last).

Are there ID requirements to enter the event?

As we are a Will Call only event, you must bring your ID with you to check-in at the entry point. If you are part of a group of tickets but not the purchaser, you only need your ID if you are going to consume alcohol (and you have to be 21+ of course). If you are 21 and want to drink but don't have your ID you will be stamped with the "Under 21" stamp and no one will serve you alcohol. What a bummer! So don't forget your ID.

Obviously, small children do not need an ID.

Are there any age restrictions?

No, bring the family!

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

The CTA has a nearby stop on Chicago Ave.

There are plenty of things to chain a bicycle to in the immediate vicinity of the event (you can't bring it in, sorry).

Parking is plentiful and free in this area but please be respectful of our neighbors.

What can't I bring to the event?

No outside food or drink. It's an insurance thing, sorry. We make exceptions for babies & toddlers.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Right here through Eventbrite! We try to respond as quickly as possible.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nope! Remember, it's Will Call only. No printed ticket required!

What is the refund policy?

There are no refunds. But we're not ogres. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about your tickets - we were able to satisfactorily resolve every situation last year. Except that one scalper, but you can't please everyone.

Why won't Eventbrite let me print a ticket?

It's Will Call only. Arrive with your guests and show your ID at the gate. No tickets to lose or forget!

Can I transfer my ticket?

No.

Is the menu Peanut-free?

No, sorry, it's not.

Will there be lines?

We will do our best to keep them to a minimum. That first session last year was a little rough, but we identified and fixed the issue. The remaining 3 sessions had very short lines.

Why are there so many FAQs?

Because people have lots of questions!
