PAUL ZIRING

Recipient, "2013 Outstanding Advocate for Science & Technology Award"

The Science Museum of Long Island recently named Paul Ziring as a recipient of a 2013 OUTSTANDING ADVOCATE FOR SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY AWARD.  Paul will be honored on Wednesday, February 6th at the Westbury Manor for his outstanding contributions toward the advancement and education of science and technology.

Please help support Paul in his goal to raise a minimum of $1,000 for this important fundraiser.

Proceeds support the Science Museum of Long Island's programs and services for the children and families of the region!

A summary of Paul Ziring's impressive list of accomplishments:

Paul is the Special Education Outdoor Education Coordinator/Instructor for the Great Neck School District.  Since his appointment 8 years ago to this position, Paul has expanded the program to include 15 groups of special education students throughout the district working with students K-12 and a transition group which is made up of older students.  According to Paul, “The Science Museum of Long Island has been an integral component for the program.”

An educator for the Great Neck School District for the past 21 years, Paul was also a co-sponsor of Great Neck North's award winning Peer AIDS Education Program and became a facilitator with the Peer AIDS Education training provided by North Shore/LIJ Health Care System.

Paul earned his BA in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta and, in 1992, completed a Masters of Science degree in Health Education from HofstraUniversity, graduating with distinction.
