State of California Employment Development Department, The Valley Economic Alliance, California Community Colleges, California Department of Veterans Affairs, California Labor and Workforce Development Agency, Department of Industrial Relations-Apprenticeship Standards, and various federal, state, local and private organizations will partner once again to host the Eighth Annual "Honor A Hero - Hire A Vet" Job and Resource Fair.

A job and resource fair for Veterans, National Guard, and Reservists returning from active duty.

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL JOB SEEKERS!

  • Dress for success and bring your resume.
  • Meet and interview with employers.
  • Find out about job opportunities.
  • Find out about apprenticeship and training opportunities for Veterans.
  • To attend this Job Fair, you MUST register online- registration will close once maximum attendance has been reached, so register early and in advance for the event!   





FAQs

Q. Is this job fair only for veterans?

A. Although the job fair is targeted for veterans, it is open to any job seeker.  Please register for non-veteran ticket.

Q. How do I prepare for this job fair?

A. You can attend a Pre-Job Fair Career Shop at any of the four America's Job Centers of California/EDD offices listed.  The Career Shop is free and will be scheduled days in advance of the job fair.

Q. What time should I show up?

A. Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your registered time slot, allowing yourself enough time to park and wait in the pre-registered line.

Q. Do I need to have my ticket printed for the day of the event?

A. It is strongly suggested that you print your ticket or have your ticket ready to scan on your smartphone to speed up the process. You can also go into any America's Job Centers of California office to print your ticket using their lobby computers.

Q. Will employers at the job fair have job openings?

A. Our goal is to have employers with job opportunities attend the job fair.  Company information will be updated on this event site http://hahhav.eventbrite.com as they become available.  Look up the companies on www.CalJOBS.ca.gov for current job openings closer to the event date.

Q. Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

A. Yes, please bring a government issued picture ID. You must be at legal working age or with a work permit.

Q. What are my transportation/parking options getting to the event?

A. There will be bus services offered for veterans from some of the local offices, please contact the provided number(s) on the right side of this page to find out more information.  There is parking available on site, please carpool if you can.  Parking will be validated. 

Q. What can/can't I bring to the event?

A. You can bring many copies of your resume. Please do not bring any pets, weapons, alcoholic drinks, illegal substances, enlarged backpacks/suitcases, and anything else that would be deemed inappropriate for a professional job fair environment.

Q. Can I update my registration information?

A. Yes, you can log into your Eventbrite account and update registration information.

Q. The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

A. No, please cancel the ticket that you do not wish to use and register again with the correct information.
