Biography – Charles Ng, Associate Director General of investment Promotion at InvestHK
Mr. Charles Ng was appointed as the Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) in July 2007. He heads up one of two divisions that is responsible for helping overseas, Mainland and Taiwanese companies to establish or expand their business presence in Hong Kong. His team is responsible for Financial Services, Innovation and Technology, and Information and Communications Technology.
Mr. Ng is also in charge of the Research & Knowledge Management as well as the International Operations Team which oversees 21 key business cities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Mr. Ng has extensive experience in the private sector, having worked for companies in the manufacturing and trading sectors, as well as for multinationals in the financial services and banking sectors in Mauritius, Canada and Hong Kong. He also has experience setting up and managing his own business and running a major international chamber of commerce in Hong Kong.
Mr. Ng is a part-time lecturer at The University of Hong Kong’s School of Professional and Continuing Education. He speaks English, French, Cantonese, Putonghua, Hakka and Creole, and holds an MBA degree jointly conferred by the Business School of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University.
Biography – Dr. David Chung, Chief Technology Officer, Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited
Dr. David Chung joined Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited as the Chief Technology Officer leading core public functions of Cyberport, namely IT&T services operations, Technology Centre, Collaboration Centre and Entrepreneurship Centre. Under his direction, Cyberport is continuing to focus significant resources on fostering the growth of local ICT startup and SME companies. Dr. Chung currently serves as member of the Expert Group on Cloud Computing Services and Standards, Working Group on Cloud Computing Interoperability Standards and Convenor of the Working Group on Provision and Use of Cloud Services. He also serves as member of the Technical Committee 28 on Information Technology of Standardization of Guangdong Province and Hong Kong / Guangdong Expert Committee on Cloud Computing Services and Standards. Dr. Chung is the President of the IPv6 Forum-HK Chapter to promote the deployment and swifter uptake of the next generation internet with support from industry, education and research organizations.
Dr. Chung holds Engineering Management Doctorate from City University of Hong Kong, Master Degree of Business Administration from Open University of Hong Kong, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from Chinese University of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Science (Engineering) in Computer Science from Imperial College London.
Biography - Curtis Louie, Marketing Manager, New York Office Hong Kong Trade Development Council
Curtis Louie is the Marketing Manager of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) New York Office. He oversees 18 states including Washington DC.
Mr. Louie draws upon his extensive experience in marketing and promotions in the U.S. and Asia to create and facilitate opportunities in international trade between Hong Kong and its trading partners.
Prior to joining HKTDC’s New York Office, Mr. Louie was based in Hong Kong where he spent the better part of ten years working in the entertainment sector. As a Regional Marketing Manager for International at Warner Music Asia Pacific, he worked with such artists as Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Missy Elliott and matchbox twenty to name a few. His duties included working closely with the regional affiliates as well as the regional media outlets including MTV Asia and Channel [V]. Prior to leaving Hong Kong, he consulted for a concert promoter which later evolved into Live Nation, one of the largest concert promoters in the world.

Biography – Tytus Michalski, Managing Director, Fresco Capital Advisors
Tytus is involved in all aspects of investment and operations of the fund. He has been investing, working and living in Asia since 1999. Previously, he was Chief Investment Officer of Equities at PMA Investment Advisors, managing the regional equity funds and the equity team. Tytus was a founding member of PMA, which was started in 2002 and acquired in 2006 for over US$200mln. Before that, he worked at HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and London.
Tytus graduated from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (Finance with Honours), is a Leslie Wong Fellow (UBC Portfolio Management Foundation) and holds the CFA designation. In his spare time, Tytus enjoys traditional Okinawan karate.
Biography – Allison Baum, Managing Director, Fresco Capital Advisors
Allison is involved in all aspects of investment and operations of the fund. Previously, as Regional Director of Asia at General Assembly, she established and grew the company’s first education programs for technology, business, and design in Hong Kong. She originally joined the company in its early stages in New York where she developed and scaled their first long-form and immersive courses. Throughout this process, Allison has worked with startups of all sizes across the New York and Hong Kong communities.
After earning a B.A. in Economics and a Secondary Degree in Film Studies from Harvard University, Allison worked in Equity Derivatives Sales & Trading at Goldman Sachs in New York and as an Associate Producer for the Microlending Film Project, a documentary about micro finance for women around the world. She continues to contribute to the cause for female empowerment through an education initiative called Arts and Enterprise for Women, which teaches business skills to refugee and asylum seekers in Hong Kong.
Biography – Felix Lam, Managing Director, Red Chapel Advisors
Felix is currently the Executive Board Member for TiE Hong Kong and Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Cocoon, a vibrant community of entrepreneurs. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Business Angel Network (HKBAN) and serves as a mentor & vetting committee member for a number of startup incubators and business angel programmes in the region.
Prior to that, he held engineering, sales & marketing positions for Alcatel-Lucent, Hewlett-Packard and Nortel Networks in the Asia Pacific region. He holds a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honours) and Master of Engineering Science in Telecommunications from the University of New South Wales. Felix was awarded the Australian Students Prize in 1990.
