Homeschool Science Club
The San Antonio Children's Museum has exciting homeschool workshops available for families looking to supplement their science curriculum, explore physics, biology, engineering and more with our specialized equipment and knowledgeable teachers, and network with other homeschooling families.
When: Thursdays March 29, April 26, or May 31 (2:00-3:30 pm)
Ages: 7-10 years*
Cost: $15.00 Members/$20.00 Non-Members per workshops (includes admission to program for participant and 1 adult); additional children participating $10 each per workshop
*Parents - You are welcome to drop your homeschooler off while you play in the museum with younger siblings if you'd like, but please do not bring younger siblings into the workshop. Regular Museum admission applies to siblings ($8 ages 2 and up; free for children under 2).
Register for one or more of the following workshops for your homeschooler:
March 29: Energy: Electrifying Science Explore energy in one of its coolest forms: electricity. We'll learn the basics behind circuitry and static electricity as we experiment with moving motors, electric gelatin and a Van de Graaff that is sure to create some hair-raising excitement!
April 26: Magnetism: Opposites Attract Discover the force of magnetism as you experiment with some unique and "attractive" magnets! We'll learn what makes magnets so fascinating as we explore using super strength magnets, iron fillings, and magnetic cereal!
May 31: Push and Pull: Fascinating Forces Experience the fun and fascinating concepts of force and motion as you feel them! We'll explore the basics behind force and motion using spinning boards, tornado tubes, and learn a trick or two that is sure to make you a master of the force!
