Here's your hands-on opportunity to experience the fundamentals of graphic design, architecture, product development, and biological processes using a variety of open-source software applications, including Sketchup, Inkscape and Blender. We'll spend 11 weeks using the MakersFactory machinery to 3-D print and laser-cut lamps, cards, toys, and stickers plus use the laptop computers onsite to create animations and models. MakersFactory is a new educational maker space in downtown Santa Cruz, CA, where students of all ages will learn and use exciting new technology for 3D printing, modeling, animation, and robotics. MakersFactory students will be able to design, prototype, and manufacture a wide variety of items, from simple 3D objects to complex mechanical/electronic products.
