Homes are the Heart of Alameda - Community Panel
Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM (PDT)
Alameda Home Team is promoting the support, awareness and understanding of the importance of housing of all types, from upscale to affordable for all incomes, including families, first-time homebuyers, seniors, and people with disabilities. There are many available sites for building in Alameda based on the previous and upcoming state-mandated “Housing Elements”, which determines where new homes will be constructed.
Councilmember Lena Tam will share an overview of Alameda’s goals and objectives for developing housing for existing and future needs. Other speakers include Kari Thompson, President, Alameda’s Chamber of Commerce and Anne DeBardeleben, President-Elect, Alameda Association of Realtors.
Speakers will address the benefits new homes will provide Alameda in economic growth, family stability, vibrant neighborhoods, employment and lessen traffic impacts from having a local workforce and more. The event will showcase some of the sites currently available and the opportunities for housing developments of design excellence.
Who Should Attend?
All interested individuals, representatives of non-profit and business organizations, and everyone in the community who is invested in the future of Alameda.
The event and refreshments are free. Please RSVP by registering above as seating is limited.
