the "Boots and Heels Lounge for female veterans"
The Homeless Veteran Stand Down provides a welcoming place for the veteran who is homeless to spend a day receiving care and information. Participants will have one-stop access to assistance and community resources.
Hot meals, medical and dental care, social activities, personal hygiene care, clothing, and help applying for military benefits will be available.
This year we have a special program for female veterans. Please come by the "Boots and Heels" Lounge. A special gift will be awaiting the first 50 registered female veterans.
We need your help to reach the homeless veterans.
Please share this information with other Veterans.
Reach out to the homeless veteran population, especially
our veteran women to help them take advantage of this event.
Please register early to confirm into this event
(and bring your DD214 or military ID
to confirm your veteran status).

When & Where
Yvonne's Place Support Services for Veterans bridge the gap of local support services, as well as provide dedicated, unique and personalized support services to implement goals adaptable to fit the transitional needs of the individual veteran or veteran family members.
Yvonne’s Place support military veterans and their family members gain access to community resources and services as they transition from active duty to a civilian lifestyle as well as support veterans of all service eras. This organization facilitate group or individual trauma session to encourage, coach, assist and support clients to make healthy mental health choices, set attainable goals, and maintain proper self- care.
Provide military support services, coaching, mentoring, education and training in the following areas:
• Military and Veteran Expert Consultant services
• Certified Veteran Peer Support Specialist services (CPSS-V)
•Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) & Wellness Recovery Action Plan for Veterans and People in the Military. Assist clients with writing their mental health goals & objectives in a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP).
• Monthly meet-up group for female veterans: Military Women “Voices of Victory”
• Provide Pastoral Counseling and outreach services through ministry
•Certified Veterans Service Officer –assist veterans’ and their families to file VA benefit claims.
•Certified North Carolina Victim Services Practitioner (NCVAN) Domestic Violence/Victim assistance
•Certified Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Gatekeeper trained facilitator (civilian & military) workshop facilitator
•Certified Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) meridian based “tapping” energy Practitioner
•HeartMath trademarked (biofeedback) licensed individual/or group trainer--veteran specific & certified military resilience mentor
•Seeking Safety group facilitator —An Evidence-Based Practice for Trauma and/or Substance Abuse (recovery).
