Title: Partnering with Physicians-The   New Model

Brief Description: Too often agency-physician relations deteriorate into burdensome exchanges that must be endured, rather than fruitful alliances to provide optimal patient care. Understand why this happens and what you can do to promote partnerships with your referral sources. Understand how ACOs and bundled payments are creating market incentives to promote such partnerships, and what you need to do to ensure you have a seat at the table.

BIO: Dr. Michael Blackstone earned his medical degree at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA and subsequently trained at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics program. Dissatisfied with the growing paperwork burden placed upon healthcare providers, he started SutureSign – an electronic document delivery network designed to reduce that burden and help physicians capture lost signature-related revenue, ultimately making electronic signature work for all parties. Due to SutureSign’s success, he rarely has time for clinical work, but he still enjoys caring for both adults and children when he can. He lives in Birmingham, AL with his wife and four children.
