Home Care In 2014 and Beyond - What You Don't Know WILL Hurt You
Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (PST)
The Home Care Industry took a beating this year from lawmakers, and significant changes to the labor laws and regulations in California begin going into effect January 1, 2014. Every home care agency in the state must change its way of doing business to be compliant and remain in operation. Are you prepared to deal with:
- Overtime requirements of AB 241, the Domestic Workers' Bill of Rights - effective January 1, 2014
- Minimum Wage increases under AB 10 - effective July 1, 2014 (Don't think this one affects you? Think again!)
- Elimination of the FLSA Companionship Services Exemption - effective January 1, 2015
- State Licensure for non-medical home care companies through AB 1217 - effective January 1, 2016
In combination, these new laws have potentially devastating consequences for home care agencies. Those who are uninformed or ill-prepared will simply not survive.
Get the knowledge and resources you need to weather the storm from our expert panel of speakers, who will help guide you through the inevitable changes to come:
|Elizabeth Murphy, Esq. and Bob King, Esq. - Liz and Bob are the premier home care attorneys in the state. Between them they have decades of experience in labor law and litigation, with specific knowledge of the law as it relates to caregivers and home care providers.|
|Jennifer Gabales - As the Policy Director for the California Association for Health Services At Home (CAHSAH), Jennifer has the inside scoop on how things played out politically, and has a seat at the table with the Department of Social Services - who will be promulgating the new licensure regulations.|
