Join your fellow bloggers (and a growing number of blog readers) for our first hoco blogger party of the year. On Thursday, January 20, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., we'll be at Second Chance Saloon in the Oakland Mills Village Center. Bill Woodcock of 53 Beers on Tap and David Bailey of Computer Blues (a Posterous blogger) are the evening's co-hosts. If I recall correctly, Bill's blog is named for the Second Chance Saloon's predecessor, The Last Chance Saloon, and their 53 beers they had on tap. (And Wendy, one of the owners of the place, tells me they have 12 taps and 88 bottles, so they are "Columbia's home of 100 beers.")
For those who were at our Pure Wine Cafe party in November, you might have participated in a "social capital" survey to see who in the crowd had yielded the most social capital for the venue. JP of Pure Wine Cafe kindly offered a prize for the winner, and I liked the idea so much that we're doing it again.
Wendy has created three prizes for the hoco blogs revelers. They are -
1st place winner - $20 gift certificate and a bottle of pinot grigio wine
at your return visit.
2nd place- $15 gift certificate and 10 free house vodka infusion shot to people you choose
on your return visit.
3rd place- $10 gift certificate and a bottomless mug of beer (Bud, Miller or Yeungling)
on your return visit.
How do you win these prizes? Hah, let me tell you: you use your social capital inside of social media. Check out the score card for how we'll be deciding the winners. Start your engines and get going ... whether for fun, in support of a locally owned business or for the thrill of competition and the joy of victory, please participate and experience the bounty that you can bring to others by wielding the power of your participation in your own social network.
