Berlin Wellness Village Hobnobs for Childbirth Professionals are networking events designed to help our community thrive with support for and from one another, meeting new members of the community and solidifying relationships with the people you know and picking up practical tools and tips for growing your baby related business.
Through these hobnobs we not only strengthen our individual businesses, but we grow stronger and more united as a community and as a result better reach and serve the needs of growing families in our area.
1) Networking - this months networking event is 'Tweet Cards' - on registration you will be asked to describe what makes you and your product or service unique in 144 characters (a tweet!). Work the room and get to know which tweet goes with each childbirth professional while enjoying tasty refreshements hand-crafted by Dr. Alyssa Berlin and the Berlin Home school Culinary Crew!
2) Presentation - this months presentation/discussion is on the ever important topic of risk management. In our super litigious society how to we keep our level of care high and open while at the same time minimizing and mitigating risk. Michael Boldt is a fantastic speaker who loves the ins and out of risk management and works with a wide variety of childbirth professionals.

Risk is inherent in every worthwhile endeavor. Pregnancy and childbirth are certainly no exception to this rule. Childbirth professionals are expert risk managers. Come learn how to effectively manage the risks to which birthing professionals themselves are exposed.
This facilitated discussion will provide participants with useful answers to the following questions:
What is Risk Management?
What are some of the risks to which childbirth professionals are exposed?
How can those risks be managed so that a childbirth professional can fearlessly provide good service to their clients?
What role does insurance play in managing risk?
Michael Boldt is the president of Boldt Risk Management Solutions Inc. Mr. Boldt is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator, a Licensed Insurance Broker , an Associate of Risk Management, and has passed the Workers’ Compensation SelfInsurance Administrators Exam. BRMS is certified by the California Bureau of Registered Nurses, the Depart of Public Health, and the Department of Social Services as a continuing education provider. Michael served as a US Army medic in Saudi Arabia during the gulf war. Mr. Boldt successfully employed the principals of Dr. Bradly to assist in four births; he and his wife Michele have four great daughters as proof.
