On October 17, 2013, Tom Acitelli, author of The Audacity of Hops, and Fordham & Dominion Brewing Co., from Dover, Delaware, come together with the Heurich House to offer a twist on the traditional History and Hops event. Tom Acitelli will be at the Museum to discuss, answer, and talk the night away about his new book, The Audacity of Hops, and guests will have the chance to speak with the brewers of Fordham & Dominion Brewing Co. while tasting their Dominion Oktoberfest, Fordham Rams Head IPA, and Dominion Oak-Aged Millennium 2009.

About Fordham & Dominion Brewing Co.: Established as a brewpub in 1989 in Ashburn, Virginia, Dominion Brewing quickly grew to a production brewery and was named one of the Top 50 breweries in the U.S. Seven years later, Fordham Brewing launched a brewhouse in historic Annapolis, Maryland, naming itself after Benjamin Fordham, who was given a charter in 1703 by Queen Anne to establish a brewery in the heart of Annapolis. These 2 award-winning Mid-Atlantic breweries came together and settled into Delaware in 2007. History & Hops is a monthly series at the Heurich House Museum, the former Dupont Circle home of D.C.'s most successful brewer Christian Heurich. Every third Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30pm, the museum partners with a local craft brewery for house tours and beer tastings.

Heurich House Museum
The Heurich House Museum is the steward of Christian Heurich's legacy, connecting the story of his family, mansion, and brewery to the community with authenticity and innovation. The mansion was built from 1892-4 by German immigrant, local brewer, and philanthropist Christian Heurich (1842-1945). Recognized as Washington, D.C.’s most successful brewer, he ran the Chr. Heurich Brewing Co. until his death at 102. The mansion is notable for its technological innovations, original interiors, and rich archival collection of one of the most important local families.
The museum, located at 1307 New Hampshire Avenue in Dupont Circle, is open for regular public events and public tours Thursday through Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. Private tours and event rentals are also available. For more information, visit heurichhouse.org or call 202-429-1894.
