10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This year’s tour will focus on Popular Forest, a landscape restoration project adopted by the Garden Club of Virginia in 2010. Ticket price includes admission to the following 6 locations:
  • Point of Honor – A restoration site of the Garden Club of Virginia using proceeds from Historic Garden Week. Living history displays, discussions by their beekeepers and demonstrations in the orchard. Open until 4 p.m.
  • Deacon-Delaney home and garden, 301 Cabell Street
  • Carriage House Inn and adjoining garden, 404 Cabell Street
  • Hanna home and garden, 4924 Mountain Laurel Drive
  • Cecil home and garden, 4935 Mountain Laurel Drive
  • Poplar Forest – The most recent restoration project benefitting from Historic Garden Week in Virginia. Tours by the landscape architect, “Jefferson in Bloom” flower show in the house and historic plant sale. Open until 5 p.m.
Advance Ticket Sales: Through April 23. Full advance ticket $20, cash or check only, at the following locations: Lynchburg Visitor Center, 12th Street; Kroger Pharmacy, Boonsboro Road; Silver Thistle, Boonsboro Road; The Farm Basket, Langhorne Road; The Columns, Forest; Aylor’s, Forest; Poplar Forest; Forest.
Luncheon: Lunches must be reserved and paid for in advance. This year’s site is Poplar Forest, located at 1542 Bateman Bridge Road. Cost is $11 pp. For more information about the Lynchburg tour and to make luncheon reservations call Suzan Bryan at (434) 534-8121.
