Historic Brick Preservation at Pelham Mill Park
Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Park Heroes, if you are growing tired of mulching, we need your help cleaning and storing bricks at the historic Pelham Mill Park. Currently the old Pelham Mill office is being restored to its former architectural glory but this means that the original brick will be removed. Instead of discarding this historic brickwork, we would like to incorporate it back into the park. We need your help cleaning up these old bricks and storing them so we can use them in the park in the future. Volunteers will receive training and then will work with masonry hammers to remove the mortar from the bricks. Once the bricks are clean, we need your help stacking them on pallets to be stored.
You will be working with Rick Owens from the Greenville County Historic Preservation Commission.
