Description

Many engineers are curious and confused by data science. Is a data-scientist the same thing as a business analyst? Do they need to be able to program? How does a data scientist fit into a product team and what sorts of problems do they work on? Is there a career track that can allow an engineer interested in statistics and data to use these interests in their job?

Data science can be a very powerful tool in helping a company automate processes and turn their data into one of their most powerful 'unfair' business advantages but a good data science team requires strong engineers who know how to write features to collect and process data -- engineers who straddle the world of building product and understanding how that product gets used.

Join us as Gurjeet Singh, Ayasdi CEO & Noah Horton, Ayasdi Chief Product Officer present on their incredible career paths, how you can integrate data science thinking in to your projects, and their advice to you in a world of increasing complexity and automation.

About Ayasdi

"Over a decade ago, we collected a data-set about what factors drove survival rates in breast cancer. For ten years, data scientists mined this data and discovered everything they could to improve treatment. In ten minutes, Ayasdi's platform automatically discovered a new biomarker they all had missed which indicated higher survival rates.

That's what Ayasdi does – it discovers patterns in data automatically, making data science far more accessible and far more effective. Using Ayasdi, people are fundamentally reshaping industries as diverse as medicine, financial services, energy, cpg, high-tech, government, and more.
