Have you ever read a job description (or needed to hire one yourself) asking specifically for a “BI DBA” and wondered what exactly that means? In this session we will discuss the expectations of the role, what the various pieces of the Microsoft BI stack are and what administrative components and gotchas are involved for each one. If you need to unveil the mysteries and intricacies of administrating an SSIS, SSAS and/or SSRS environment from a DBA perspective then check this session out!


Jorge Segarra (aka SQLChicken) is an author, blogger, speaker, SQL Server MVP and community volunteer currently working as a DBA/BI Consultant for Pragmatic Works. Jorge has co-authored on several books including "SQL Server 2012 Bible" and “SQL 2008 Pro Policy-Based Management“.He was also a Redgate Exceptional DBA of the Year 2010 Finalist. He also founded SQL University, a community project aimed at helping people learn SQL Server from the ground up, which you can find at http://sqluniversity.org

Our meetings are free and open to the public. The doors open at 6:00 pm and food arrives shortly after that allowing time to grab something to eat and networking with your peers. This is a secure building so you will need to check in with the guard before proceeding upstairs. The meeting will start at 6:30 with announcements and open floor discussions followed by the speaker for the night.

Please plan on joining us for the meeting after the meeting where we can network in a more casual environment.
