"See the REAL Florida!"
The next hike in the "wildly" popular Hike Sumter "See the REAL Florida" program is at Marsh Bend on April 26th. Meet at the boat ramp at 8:45 for registration and completion of waivers. Go to this link for more information on the location http://fl-sumtercounty.civicplus.com/index.aspx?NID=209
Our guide, as usual, is UF/IFAS Extension, Sumter County Agent, Jim Davis. You'll be learning about Florida's natural resources including native plants, invasive plants, insects, wildlife, etc. as well as enjoying the great weather and scenery. The weather will be warmer and we should see a lot of blooming trees and plants and wildlife.
Please dress appropriately for hiking: no open-toe shoes, bring sunscreen, insect repellant, and binoculars. Bring your camera so you can “shoot” any wildlife we may encounter.
Bring your lunch and beverages in a cooler. Following the hike we’ll have lunch together and have a question and answer session.
The hikes fill up quickly and space is limited; so register right away. This event promises to be educational and a lot of fun; we hope you will join us. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 352-793-2728, Ext. 229.
