Here Comes the Guide! Skip the Stress and Plan Your Wedding Like a Pro!
Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 7:00 PM - Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 9:30 PM (CST)
Saint Louis, United States
Here Comes the Guide is a wedding planning workshop designed to help brides plan weddings in the real world, with real budgets and real lives outside of wedding planning. I'm Victoria Burrows, wedding planner and owner of A Bride's Ally - a 2012 and 2013 The Knot Best of Weddings award winner. (Yes, that The Knot.) I love helping brides find the best ways to plan their weddings and this workshop is great way for me to give you a whole bunch of useful information in a short amount of time and for a bargain of a price compared to paying for a full-time planner. No matter where you are in the planning process, you'll leave this workshop a smarter and happier bride!
We will have a blast over the month of March! There will be games, prizes, drawings, and more! Here's what you will learn:
Week 1 (3/4): Getting Started (or Re-Started)
This week we’ll discuss how to get organized, what you’re planning timeline should look like, and the dreaded “B” word…budget!!
We’ll also hear from Nicolette from Holiday inn regarding what to look for in a venue, and yours truly will be presenting information on how to decide if you need a professional wedding planner.
Week 2 (3/11): Hiring Your Wedding Team
It’s all about vendors this week and creating your wedding dream team. Where to find them, how to interview them, and how to work with them.
We'll get some great pointers from Jamie Krause of Jaimie Nicole Krause Photography regarding selecting and working with your photographer so you get the best memories of your wedding day.
And to make sure you'll look your best in those pictures, Amanda from St. Louis Makeup Artist will tell us all about hair, makeup, and what to do to make sure you look as fabulous on the outside as you'll feel on the inside on your big day.
Week 3 (3/18): Planning in a DIY and Pinterest World
This isn’t your mother’s world of wedding planning. Pinterest and amazing DIY options have completed overhauled what it means to plan a wedding. This week we’ll talk about how to use (and not use) Pinterest to your advantage as well as discuss the pros and cons of going DIY.
It's not a party without the music! We'll hear all about how to keep your reception rockin' from Mike of Open Mike Entertainment
One additional awesome vendor guest speakers to be announced!
Week 4 (3/25): Pulling It All Together – Top Tips & Tricks
Learn how to stay sane, avoid drama, and sidestep the classic top wedding planning mistakes. We’ll also talk about how important day-of timelines are and how to make one that works for your wedding.
First comes wedding, then comes honeymoon! Trish from The Travel Gals will be speaking on all the fabulous (and budget-friendly) options available to you and how easy it is to plan a dream honeymoon.
