Help us, help those effected with HIV/AIDS in North Texas

Ticket Information

Ticket Type Price Fee Quantity
$25 can purchase one HIV test
People who know their status and get treatment live longer, healthier lives and are less likely to spread the disease. For every person you help prevent infection of HIV, you save our community $357,142 in health care costs!
$25.00 $0.00
$50 can purchase one prescription co-pay
Failure to adhere to medications increases the HIV virus, strengthens drug resistance, and eventually causes death. Copay expenses often prohibit people from refilling their prescriptions. HIV positive patients who consistently adhere to their medication regimen can reduce the risk of transmission to others by as much as 96%!
$50.00 $0.00
$75 can purchase two hours of HIV prevention education
AIDS is now the #1 killer of all women ages 15-45 across the globe, the #1 killer of U.S. Blacks ages 25-44, and the #2 killer for Latinos of the same age. Youth under the age of 24 account for 24% of new infections. Education and risk reduction interventions are critical to stopping the spread of HIV. You help reduce infections in all communities.
$75.00 $0.00
$100 can purchase four doctor visit co-pays
The cost for regular medical care and case management for one patient is about $2, 800 (not including medications) and includes four doctor visits per year BEFORE issues become acute emergencies which costs the city millions. Copays for visits (for people with income and insurance) average $25 per visit. By encouraging regular care you can help Dallas taxpayers save up to $6 million a year in unnecessary Emergency Room usage when people have access to affordable outpatient care.

“No war on the face of the Earth is more destructive than the AIDS pandemic."

DIFFA/Dallas has donated more than $5 million in the past 20 years to over 20 front line HIV/AIDS organizations in North Texas.

DIFFA/Dallas does the homework and the follow-up to ensure that donors and their funds have the greatest impact with those living with or effected by HIV/AIDS.

What are the dollars used for?

Education, prevention, direct services, direct care, mental health support, community building, housing, legal services, food, and advocacy.

Are dollars still needed for HIV/AIDS?

Yes, more than ever

• 17,000 cases of HIV/AIDS are currently reported in Dallas/Fort Worth

• Dallas/Fort Worth has the nation’s highest HIV infection rate among young people

• The current number of reported cases has increased by 60% since 2001

• Estimated that 25% of those infected have not been tested

• African-Americans account for 52% of new HIV infections in Dallas/Fort Worth

• Government funding is increasingly scarce

• The costs are greater as people live longer with HIV/AIDS
