BOOT CAMP AND CELEBRATION TO HELP KYLE KICK CANCER!
As some of you already know, my smart, funny, handsome 15-year-old nephew, Kyle Lyman, was suddenly diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer (a mixed-cell germ cell brain tumor) this past February after being sick for just a few weeks. Kyle immediately underwent surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain that was dangerously high and started aggressive chemotherapy just days later to shrink the large tumor (plum size) in the middle of his brain. Kyle will begin daily radiation treatments in July after the completion of his chemotherapy treatments which were unfortunately recently extended. Kyle also has a 13-year-old sister, Courtney, and the whole family has been affected by Kyle's diagnosis. Kyle's amazing spirit and attitude has been such an inspiration to all of us. He is one strong kid and I am proud to be his Aunt!
Maria Rutter, owner of BodyLabSF, has graciously donated her time and will hold one of BodyLabSF's AMAZING boot camps to help raise money to support Kyle and his family in Kyle's journey to KICK cancer's BUTT! For those of us fortunate to have trained with Maria, we all know that she is FANTASTIC! Please join me in getting your butt kicked by Maria while also helping Kyle Kick Cancer's Butt!
The boot camp will start at BodyLabSF at 11:00am on June 1st and then the trainers will take the group outside towards Crissy Field. A celebration with food and drinks will take place after at Crissy Field starting at 12:00pm. There will also be a silent auction at the celebration, including a $300 gift certificate from Riccardo of the upscale hair salon Cowboys & Angels in San Francisco, a gift certificate for Uncorked Events and more!
For those of you who can't make the boot camp, feel free to buy a ticket and still come to the party after at Crissy Field. We will be set up near the West Bluff picnic area - down a bit from East Beach. There is a second parking lot down by this picnic area.
Tickets are $40 per person, but please feel free to donate more if you wish or donate even if you can't make it on June 1st!
*Proceeds from ticket sales to BodyLabSF's Boot Camp and Celebration to Kick Cancer will be donated to Kyle's family to help pay for medical and other expenses. Due to the aggressiveness of Kyle's treatments, the Lyman family is incurring unexpected medical costs for the numerous procedures and prescriptions. The family is also commuting 60 miles each way (sometimes spending the night) to a specialized facility for treatment given the rare form of brain cancer. As a single-income family, this has created a financial hardship.
