This weekend is a special one for the Megaphone Show: we are beyond excited to announce that Kevin McDonald of Kids in the Hall will be our guest monologist!
This show is a fundraiser for Hell Yes Fest! The proceeds for TNM will go to making Hell Yes Fest even bigger and better. Hell Yes Fest is the biggest comedy festival in the Gulf South and it's coming to New Orleans this November via The New Movement.
More about the megaphone show:
It’s our longest running show and it’s every Saturday night at The New Movement. At each Megaphone Show we invite a special guest/local celebrity/fun-person-about-town up on stage to share a few of their favorite true stories. We take details of these stories to inspire fast, smart improv comedy. Come see why this has quickly become our most popular show.
More about Kevin McDonald:
Kevin McDonald is a Canadian stand-up comedian, actor, voice artist, and writer. McDonald founded The Kids in the Hall with his friend Dave Foley. They met in Toronto at the Second City Training Center, and the two wrote and performed in sketches together more than any other pair in the group. He's played many roles in movies like Boy Meets Girl, Agent Pleakley in the Lilo & Stitch series, and Harry Potter in Epic Movie. On TV, he has appeared on The Martin Short Show, Ellen (as a radio personality), That '70s Show (as a confused young cleric, Pastor Dave), Seinfeld, Friends, NewsRadio (on which Foley starred), MADtv, Arrested Development, and Corner Gas.
Ticket are $15

When & Where
Hell Yes Fest
Hell Yes Fest is an annual comedy festival held each fall in New Orleans. Spanning multiple nights and venues, HYF has been the Gulf South’s largest comedy festival since 2011. It features the best comedians from The New Movement in Austin and New Orleans, as well as other stellar performers from all over the damn world.
This year’s fest will take place in October 1st–11th. We’ve grown so much that we’re planning to expand the fest into a second week. The first half of the fest will focus on Film and Sketch (October 1st–5th). The second half will focus on Standup and Improv (October 6th–11th), with other surprise shows and formats (Podcast Recordings, Food, Game Shows, Video Games, etc.) sprinkled throughout.
HYF is curated by a staff of improv, sketch, and standup comedians from The New Movement. Head curator is Chris Trew (TNM co-founder & Creative Director), and helping him out are Brock LaBorde (TNM co-founder & General Manager), and a handful of local comedians who know what the hell they’re doing.
