The Chicago Chamber Musicians’ (CCM), Chicago’s highly versatile ensemble of internationally-acclaimed musicians, begins its Spring Chamber Masterworks Series with music by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Dvořák.
Known for advancing contemporary music by American composers, CCM will present works commissioned for its ensemble players. Trumpet virtuosi Barbara Butler and Charles Geyer will be soloists for Stacy Garrop’s Trumpets of Jericho, a work they premiered last February. James M. Stephenson’s Celestial Suite for Brass Quintet, another CCM commissioned contemporary American work, will be heard on this program entitled Heavenly Winds. The program concludes with Mozart’s Serenade No. 12, K.388.
The program will be on Sunday, February 9, at Evanston’s Pick-Staiger Concert Hall at Northwestern University (50 Arts Circle Drive) at 7:30 p.m.
We pride ourselves in having one of the most flexible exchange policies in Chicago. All exchanges and redemptions can be made up to 3 p.m. on the day of the concert by calling our Box Office at 312-819-5806 or emailing BoxOffice@ChicagoChamberMusic.org.
