HealthySteps would like to invite you to participate in a variety of complementary Health Improvement Program classes focused on Healthy Living. Several different classes will be held during the month of July, including topics such as:

Description of Classes:
De-Clutter to De-Stress:
Clutter can be a significant source of stress in our lives. Messy homes or workspaces can create or compound feelings of anxiety, helplessness and frustration. Is the clutter in your home or office beginning to overwhelm you? In this interactive workshop we will explore practical ways to organize your physical space and reduce the anxiety that clutter often creates. Learn the all-important step of “where to begin” and how to carve a manageable, efficient and stress-free space out of the chaos.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction:
It has been know for centuries in the meditative traditions that the sustained practice of mindfulness meditation can have profoundly healing and transformative effects on one’s life. Substantiated by ongoing scientific investigation and evaluation, the MBSR, participants develop the practical and accessible skill of paying attention to the present moment (mindfulness). Though a variety of guided practices, participants can experience their own natural relaxation response and restore a healthy balance between mind and body. All MBSR classes include group dialogue, various breath-based meditation practices, and some gentle yoga.

Are you plagued by chronic tension, stress, aches or pains? Are you fit, but injured? You will lean to sense the interplay between muscle tension and bone alignment in all of these activities. Simple, yet profound changes will help you find and keep your “spinefulness”.

Homemade is a hands-on nutrition and behavioral change curriculum for sustainable weight loss and chronic disease prevention. Learn how to cook healthy meals designed for weight loss, heart health and diabetes control. You will also receive weight loss coaching, nutrition education, mindfulness practice and peer group support.
