Event Details

Join 200 of your youth-serving colleagues for the Annual Healthy Youth Provider Conference! Teachers, counselors, health professionals, social workers and other service providers who champion youth of Central Texas are invited to join us Thursday May 22nd at the Texas State Capitol to become inspired, empowered and connected!

We are thrilled to have Courtney Jones, Founder and Executive Director ofChange1, kicking off our day with an inspiring keynote address. Change1 has a mission to improve the lives of young people who age out of the Texas Foster Care system; by planting a new way of thinking, one of hope, possibilities, and purpose. She is helping to change lives, one child at a time.

This Conference will give you opportunities to talk with colleagues about your interests in health, skill building, high risk behaviors, relationship building, family welfare, gender, self-care, management and other current issues while being inspired to find new courage and potential in your work. The innovative themes will include presentations that will:

  • Inspire: Inspiring youth-serving professionals to re-engage in their work, to re-invigorate their work and/or to practice self-care.
  • Empower:  Empowering youth to make healthy decisions, be self-sufficient and plan for their futures.
  • Connect: Connecting youth-serving professionals to each other and to youth through professional collaboration, network building and creating healthy work environments.

Conference Schedule

This year we are adding an event called the Youth Provider Connection (YPC), which will take place during the conference after the last break out session, and before the closing remarks.  The members of HYP's Leadership Development Academy (LDA) developed this event as their collaborative project.  The members wanted to create an event that increased connections and networks of the HYP community (and any other youth service providers.)  As a result of the Youth Provider Connection, LDA members hope that by increasing a service provider’s network, they will be able to better serve and more narrowly address the needs of youth in our community.
