Healthy City Summit

Join us for an exciting, informative day dedicated to learning how we can all contribute to health innovation. The Healthy City Summit will feature Detroit area health experts, local and national social innovators and business leaders who are all committed to a healthier, more vibrant Detroit and surrounding communities.
The Summit is an opportunity to learn more about the health issues facing Detroit and surrounding communities. You will hear from health leaders and innovative entrepreneurs who are addressing these issues within their business models. You can also learn about the Enterprising Health Fellowship; a five-month program designed to propel leaders and aid them in developing and sustaining businesses focused on improving the health of the community. Fellows will be eligible to apply for up to 75K in seed capital.
Our keynote speaker, David Bornstein, is a journalist and author who focused on social innovation. David co-authors the Fixes column in The New York Times Opionator section, which explores solutions to major social problems. He is the founder of Dowser, a media site that trains young journalists to cover social innovation, and co-founder of the Solutions Journalism Network. His books include How to Change the World:Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas, The Price of a Dream: The Story of the Grameen Bank, and Social Entrepreneurship: What Everyone Needs to Know.He is currently working on completing a book on social innovation in the U.S. and Canada. He lives in New York.
