Event Details

In honor of Women's History Month, the Latino Authors and Writers Society in partnership with the Black Latina Movement presents a Writer's Talk with guest speaker Marinieves Alba. There will also be a special opening performance by poet J.F. Seary.

The event title reflects how people often use writing as a means to heal themselves, heal their people or land, or mend relationships with friends and family members. This writing takes the form of journal entries, essays, short stories, poems, monologues, plays, and every other type of written expression. Sometimes we are able to find our own comfort when we see ourselves in the writing of others. Attendees are encouraged to bring an excerpt from or a piece of their own writing that may have helped them to heal to share with the group.

We look forward to seeing you there!
