HAWAII'S DIVAS, MELVEEN LEED AND NOHELANI CYPRIANO--FIRST TIME TOGETHER IN THE BAY AREA FOR A "MUST SEE" CONCERT EVENT!

Melveen Leed, known as Hawaii's "First Lady of Hawaiian Country Music" is a multi-talented, award-winning vocalist with 24 recorded albums to date and numerous awards, including Hawaii's Na Hoku Hanohano award for Best Female Vocalist (5 time winner), Album of the Year, Song of the Year and a Lifetime Achievement Award.  Melveen has traveled the world from the continental US to Japan, France, Russia and Bulgaria.  She has also performed at the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Fanfare with Crystal Gayle and Charlie Pride in Nashville.  Melveen is a versatile entertainer who is also a former Miss Molokai and actress, having appeared in several guest roles on the original "Hawaii 5-0".

Nohelani Cypriano is a leader in Hawaii's contemporary music industry as a vocalist, keyboard player and composer.  This multi-talented artist has 12 record albums to date with numerous awards, including Hawaii's Na Hoku Hanohano award for Best Female Vocalist and Contemporary Album of the Year.  Nohelani has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as Japan, Hong, Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam and Iraq.  Her last CD, entitled "Pulelehua, My Precious Butterfly" was also released as a TV special and won the prestigious Telly Award for "Best Documentary".

Melveen and Nohelani are powerhouse vocalists in their own right, but together they are also part of a dynamic singing group called "The Local Divas"--consisting of a quartet of notable Hawaiian entertainers who have dazzled audiences with their versatile music repertoire.  This group of headlining performers sold out numerous concerts throughout the Islands and Asia, and received the coveted award for "Entertainers of the Year" at the Hawaii Music Awards.

Melveen Leed and Nohelani Cypriano...two of Hawaii's most notable female vocalists together for a performance you will be sure to remember!

Opening for Hawaii's Divas is Ho'omana, who within the Hawaiian Community has become one the top recording and performing musical groups in Northern California, a name recognized since November 2001. The name Ho'omana in Hawaiian means "to worship", and is synonymous with traditional Hawaiian and Christian Hymnals with a dash of Reggae.

As a loosely organized band of five members originally called "Monterey All Stars" they performed as an opening act for the South Seas Island Jam in Monterey, CA on October 21, 2001. Today, they have become one of the most sought after Hawaiian musical groups on the West Coast.

Ho'omana has seen a few changes over the years. The five members have become three; the sound is tighter, with six-string rhythm and slack-key guitars, ukulele and electric or upright bass. The music has also evolved, but despite the changes, it has remained unique, sound instantly recognized: fresh arragemennts of traditional, contemporary Hawaiian, Reggae and Christian melodies with beautiful three-part harmoies. Ho'omana has two CDs to their credit, with first release in 2004 called "Kanani Ahiahi", and second demo CD with four songs released in 2010. Their next release called "Ho'olokahi" with 13 songs will be available in September 2012.

The group members include Robert Uncangco on lead & background vocals and 6-string rhythm guitar, Manley Bush on lead & background vocals and 6-string slack-key guitar & ukulele and Eddy Navarro on bass and background vocals.
